Poetry

From time to time, we begin class with a poem (this is not helping my "i'm not in hippy school" argument). Regardless, here is one we read this morning that i wanted to share, as well as a photo from this past weekend in the Cascades. Enjoy:
For the Children : Gary Sneider

The rising hills, the slopes,
of statistics
lie before us.
of everything, going up,
up, as we all
go down.

In the next century
or the one beyond that,
they say,
are valleys, pastures,
we can meet there in peace
if we make it.

To climb these coming crests
one word to you, to
you and your children:

stay together
learn the flowers
go light
